WELCOME
Our primary section is situated at the down floor of the campus. It is divided into two(2) sub-sections which comprises of three (03) levels ( level 1,2,3).
INFANT PRIMARY
The infant primary is made up of children with ages 5-7 years. This section is called the transition.
In Transition we aim to foster independent learning, develop key skills and
nurture creative expression, within a supportive learning environment and
through cross-curricular topic work.
The primary is made up of five(5) teacher per level and it host class size stands at 15pupils per class. This pupils are coordinated by a qualified and experienced teacher who is assisted by the level head and the headteacher.
YEAR 1
In year 1,Clubs /Music practice and dances are
introduced to the already broad curriculum, to fulfill the academic, physical,
creative and social needs of each individual child.
Establishing routines is important for every child, as it helps them to
develop a sense of belonging and supports their independent learning. The
majority of our work in Level1 is done in partner or small group setups,
incorporating the interests of the children.
It is at this stage that any child experiencing difficulties can be
identified and appropriate support planned and followed through. Sometimes this
includes off-site support, e.g. physiotherapists, speech therapists. Close
contact between staff, specialists and parents is expected.
It is rewarding to note that staff commitment to early intervention pays
such dividends in the child's all-round development.
In year 2, the interpretation of music ,intensive painting and
debates are introduced to the
curriculum. In learning skills and gaining knowledge, we aim to create a
sense of 'group', building self-confidence and developing the ability to
interact positively with others.
In addition to the requirements of Literacy and Numeracy skills, topic
themes (which may be Geography, History or Science based) are explored in
greater depth in Transition.
There is a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy skills during these two
years, as we believe that it is only when these skills are in place that
children are able to continue with independent research.
